The Collier Landry Show
The Collier Landry Show
Many people have experienced some form of trauma in their life. I decided at an early age that our trauma should not be what defines us; it’s what we choose to do with it that does. I was just 11 years old when I witnessed my father murder my mother in the early morning hours of New Year's Eve. When no one believed me except one detective, I gathered evidence against my father, leading police to discover her body buried in another state. After having my story featured on Forensic Files, I channeled my trauma into filmmaking and podcasting, gaining widespread recognition as the creator and subject of A Murder in Mansfield, a film directed by two-time Oscar winner Barbara Kopple. Every week, I share my unique perspective on surviving true crime and trauma, overcoming adversity, and moving on. Along with sharing my healing process, I speak with fellow trauma survivors, academics, advocates, and storytellers and explore what came next. I hope this podcast serves as a kind of therapy and reconciliation for myself, and anyone who may be processing betrayal and dark trauma in their lives. Four women have accused actor, comedian, and YouTuber Russell Brand of Sexual Assault and Rape. The allegations were made public last weekend in a joint investigation by The Times of London, The Sunday Times, and Channel 4 documentary team “Dispatches.” Brand has vehemently denied the claims. #russellbrand #thetimes #investigation

Russell Brand is denying what he says are “very serious criminal” allegations made against him related to past “promiscuous” behavior. Today's episode examines our culture's OBSESSION with Celebrities and the excuses we make for their bad behavior.

At what point do we say enough is enough with these BAD ACTORS?!

About Collier: On New Year's Eve 1989, Collier Landry was jolted awake by two loud thuds. When his mother disappeared the next day, he knew she was gone for good—only one detective believed him. He started gathering evidence against his father, leading police to discover her body buried beneath a house in another state. At age 12, Collier testified against his father at his month-long murder trial; he remains imprisoned.

In a new video shared on his social media on Friday, Brand, 48, said he “absolutely refutes” the claims and described them as "extremely egregious and aggressive attacks."

“I’ve received two extremely disturbing letters, or a letter and an email, one from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper, listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks,” he began in the video. “But amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks, are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.”

Although Brand did not name the TV company or newspaper, his video comes ahead of a new special investigation episode of the U.K. current affairs show Dispatches airing Saturday night.

For many years, the comedian was a familiar face on Channel 4, presenting “Big Brother” spin-off “Big Brother’s Big Mouth” among other fare. He starred in Hollywood films such as "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and "Get Him to the Greek."

YouTube has blocked Russell Brand from making money off its platform, and the BBC pulled some of his shows from its online streaming service.
